Four years have passed since Marcus Van Sciver almost successfully took over the core of Detroit and within it the four main Pure Blood Vampire houses. A group of local ‘demon’ slayers worked day and night to make sure that Van Sciver was put into a prison where he no hope of being able to see the night once again. Things grew quite as the MAGNI division of Homeland Security brushed over the entire event and made it seems as if nothing every happened.
The busy city of Detroit returned to its normal day routine and with much effort, the citizens eventually forgot the name Van Sciver all together.
However a strange series of murders have recently been sweeping through the normally quite city of Philadelphia and three of MAGNI’s top agents have been dispatched to the city to do a bit of recon and find out the true nature behind the murders.
What they find is shocking.
A secret coven of vampires has ruled the city for over a century. In this time, they have taken control of almost every aspect of life - never once allowing the general public to know of it. The Vampires have made allegiances with the criminal underworld, holding hands with the Mafia - members of the coven having direct connections into that aspect of the human underworld. Such agreements have given more power to the scope of the coven, and their rule has been nothing but successful through the years. Of course, there have always been mishaps - but there has never been hesitation to ‘fix’ such errors.
But somewhere along the lines, they made a mistake and one rogue vampire became hundreds. The murders were impossible to control, contain or even hide and it brought attention to the city itself. And having too much attention on them was a bad idea. Through a couple of vampires residing in the coven, who had allegiances elsewhere, it became known that Charlotte from the House of Chthon hadn't been as honest to Marcus about the Aurora vaccine as he had originally though. She had made another vial of the vaccine and given it to the coven in Philadelphia with hopes that should Marcus fail, they would be able to figure out how to unlock the secrets and make it work properly.
Well they have. The only problem is should they used the vaccine on their coven, there wouldn't be a force on this earth that could stop them. They must be shut down at all costs and to make matter worse the only vampire who has even close to the amount of knowledge about Aurora is sitting in prison. Without much choice, Marcus is released and he teams up with everyone who had banded together to put him in there, to take this coven down before its too late.
There's only one problem when it comes to deal with Marcus. He's a player, and he will do whatever it takes to come out on top. He surely wouldn't let a working vial of Aurora pass him by and he plans to steal the vial of Aurora himself and then disappear.
